Every marriage proposal in Koh Samui is different. Some couples choose a quiet beach at sunset, others prefer the privacy of a villa or resort, and some create a complete romantic setup with flowers, candles and dinner.

For us, the most important part is the real reaction. The proposal itself may last only a few seconds, so the photographer needs to understand the plan before the couple arrives and be ready without making the moment feel staged.
How We Photograph a Surprise Proposal
There are several ways to keep a proposal secret. Sometimes the photographer waits discreetly near the agreed location while the couple arrives naturally. In other cases, the proposal is hidden inside what appears to be a normal couple or family photoshoot.
The second approach can work especially well because your partner already expects to see a photographer. We can begin with normal photographs, move naturally through the location and then create the opportunity for the proposal without revealing what is about to happen.

Beach, Villa and Sunset Proposals
Koh Samui offers many different environments for a proposal, but the most beautiful location is not automatically the best location for every couple.
Privacy, access, tides, weather and the direction of the light can all affect the experience. A secluded beach may look perfect in photographs but be difficult to reach. A villa can offer more privacy and control, while an open viewpoint may provide a dramatic sunset but require more careful timing.
This is why we normally choose the exact plan after discussing where you are staying, how private you want the moment to feel and whether you prefer a simple natural proposal or a decorated setup.
The Photographs After the Proposal
The proposal itself is only the beginning of the photo story.
Immediately afterwards, we normally continue with relaxed portraits while the excitement is still fresh. This is one of our favourite parts of a proposal session because there is no longer anything to hide and the emotions are completely real.
Depending on the location, we can create portraits around the beach, villa, tropical landscape or sunset view and finish the session naturally rather than stopping immediately after the ring is revealed.
Photography, Video and Drone
A proposal can be photographed only, or photography can be combined with video when you want to preserve the movement, words and atmosphere of the moment as well.
Drone coverage can also add another perspective when the location, weather and local flight restrictions allow it. For a surprise proposal, however, the priority is always capturing the real reaction clearly before adding any additional coverage.

Yes. After the surprise, we normally continue with a romantic couple photoshoot so the final gallery includes both the real proposal and relaxed portraits afterwards.

Yes. For couples who want flowers, candles, dinner or a more elaborate setup, we can coordinate the photography with an event planner who prepares the location before you arrive.
Can we add video or drone coverage?
