As a Koh Samui proposal photographer, I captured S&P’s surprise engagement during a private romantic dinner in Lipa Noi. The groom arranged everything with the hotel in advance, including a special dinner setup, while his girlfriend believed they were simply going to enjoy a beautiful evening together.

I stayed nearby and photographed the moment discreetly from a distance. As soon as he proposed and they embraced, the surprise part of the evening naturally turned into a romantic couple photoshoot in the warm golden-hour light.

Photographing the Proposal From a Distance

During the dinner, I stayed nearby and photographed the scene discreetly. This approach works especially well when a proposal needs to remain a genuine surprise because there is no photographer standing directly in front of the couple before the important moment.

When the groom finally proposed, I could capture the reaction as it happened naturally — the surprise, the embrace and the first moments immediately after she said yes.
