A&L’s celebration brought together two very different wedding moods in one beautiful story. The first day was full of Indian colors, traditional outfits, family rituals, a sunlit ceremony on the lawn under soft pink canopies and an evening banquet with dancing. The second day changed the atmosphere completely — classic wedding attire, a sea-view ceremony on the hotel lawn, portraits in the elegant interiors of Centara Reserve Samui, dinner in front of the main building, a spectacular wedding cake and a joyful night under the lights.

A Two-Day Indian Wedding at Centara Reserve Samui

This two-day wedding at Centara Reserve Samui felt like two different celebrations woven into one story. The first day was bright, colorful and full of Indian traditions, with national outfits, family rituals, soft pink canopies on the lawn and an evening that continued indoors with congratulations, music and dancing.

The second day changed the mood completely. Classic wedding attire, a sea-view ceremony on the hotel lawn, elegant portraits inside the resort and a romantic outdoor dinner in front of the main building gave the celebration a softer, more timeless feeling before the night ended with a huge wedding cake and dancing under the lights.

Day One: Indian Traditions, Color and Family Energy

The first day began inside Centara Reserve Samui, where both families were getting ready in traditional Indian outfits. From the very first moments, the wedding was full of color and texture: embroidered fabrics, delicate jewelry, henna, soft pink tones and the quiet anticipation that always comes before a big family celebration.

There was a lot of life in the getting ready part of the day. Parents, relatives and friends moved between rooms, helping with final details, adjusting outfits and preparing for the ceremony ahead. These moments felt intimate and very human — not staged, not rushed, but full of small gestures that say a lot about family.

After the morning portraits, everyone moved to the lawn, where beautiful canopies had been built for the Indian wedding ceremony. The pink fabric, flowers and tropical greenery created a soft and festive setting, while the canopies protected guests from the strong Samui sun.

An Indian Ceremony on the Lawn

The first day ceremony had a warm, colorful and deeply family-centered atmosphere. The setup felt perfectly suited to Koh Samui: open air, palm trees, soft fabrics, flowers and the feeling of a tropical celebration by the sea.

Indian weddings are never only about the couple. They are about parents, relatives, blessings, rituals and everyone taking part in the story. This is what made the first day so beautiful to photograph. There were important ceremonial moments, but also countless smaller reactions happening around them.

Guests arrived in bright traditional outfits, family members helped with the rituals, elders watched closely, children moved around the lawn, and the couple stayed at the center of everything. For documentary wedding photography, this kind of day is incredibly rich because the story is not only in the main ceremony, but in every expression, movement and interaction around it.

Banquet, Stage Congratulations and Dancing

After the ceremony, guests moved indoors to the banquet hall. After the heat of the lawn, the cool interior felt calm and comfortable, giving everyone a chance to relax before the evening part of the celebration began.

The couple sat on stage while guests came up to congratulate them, take photos and share the moment personally. This part of the evening had a very warm family feeling. It was formal enough to feel important, but still relaxed and joyful.

As the night continued, the atmosphere became lighter and more playful. The evening ended with music, dancing and the kind of energy that makes Indian weddings so memorable. After a day filled with rituals and family moments, the dance floor gave everyone space to celebrate freely.

Day Two: A Classic Wedding Ceremony by the Sea

The second day began again with getting ready, but the mood was completely different. Instead of traditional Indian outfits, the couple and guests prepared for a more classic wedding day. The bride’s white dress, the groom’s suit, soft florals and elegant hotel interiors brought a new visual language to the story.

This contrast between the two days made the wedding especially interesting to photograph. The first day was full of color, movement and tradition. The second day felt lighter, more romantic and more timeless, with the architecture of Centara Reserve Samui becoming an important part of the visual story.

The ceremony took place on the hotel lawn with a wedding arch facing the sea. It was a beautiful setting: green grass, palm trees, ocean view and guests gathered in the open air. The ceremony felt peaceful and emotional, with the resort’s clean white architecture and tropical landscape in the background.

Portraits Around Centara Reserve Samui

After the ceremony, we spent around an hour creating portraits around the hotel. This was longer than a typical quick portrait session, but for this wedding it made perfect sense. Centara Reserve Samui has elegant interiors, beautiful staircases, clean architectural lines, tropical gardens and open sea-view spaces — all of which helped create a very complete portrait story.

The couple moved from the lawn to the hotel interiors, from the staircase to shaded walkways, and then through the outdoor areas of the resort. The result was a mix of classic, elegant and relaxed photographs rather than one short set of portraits in a single location.

For a two-day wedding, this kind of portrait time is valuable. The first day is often focused on tradition, family and rituals. The second day gives more space for romantic portraits, bridal portraits, family photos and relaxed moments between the couple.

Dinner on the Lawn and a Night Under the Lights

While the portrait session was happening, the team prepared the dinner area on the lawn in front of the main building. By evening, the space had changed completely. Tables, flowers, warm lights and the resort architecture created an elegant outdoor reception atmosphere.

The evening felt calm at first, with speeches, dinner and family moments. Then, as the night became darker, the lights above the reception transformed the space into something more cinematic. The celebration slowly moved from dinner into dancing.

One of the strongest visual moments of the night was the wedding cake. It was large, dramatic and perfectly suited to the scale of a two-day Indian wedding celebration. The cake cutting became a natural highlight before the final part of the evening.

The wedding ended with dancing, laughter and guests celebrating under the lights. After two full days of ceremonies, portraits, family rituals, dinner and speeches, the ending felt exactly right — joyful, emotional and full of movement.
