5 thinks your wedding photographer can’t do

1. MAKE YOU SMALLER

If I had a penny for every time someone asked me to make them smaller I’d quit and move to Bali! Please do not ask us to retouch your images to alter your body. We think you look beautiful just as you are, curves, no curves, chins or no chins. Let’s stop dieting for weddings, it’s such a toxic thing. Embrace your body, you WILL look absolutely breathtaking on your day. I may also add that retouching images takes forever — most wedding- photographers don’t include this in their
packages.

2. CONTROL THE WEATHER

When it comes to Koh Samui weddings in rainy season it’s so hard to plan a wedding in the fear of rain ruining your day. I’ve shot so many rainy weddings and I can assure you rain has never made anyone have a less incredible
wedding! Yes you may be stuck inside, bear this in mind wedding booking venues, but just see it as a lock in with
your guests, get boozy and have fun! Embrace it, get outside for that couple shoot, if you get wet — you’ll dry! Remember that! Go with it, don’t worry about it — your photographer will make beautiful images regardless and you’ll have THE best day rain or shine!

3. BE IN TWO PLACES AT ONCE

You’d think this was obvious but the amount of times I’ve been asked «did you get photos of people arriving at the ceremony when I’ve been at bridal prep. Please be aware that when your photographer is shooting solo they will be focusing on the couples story — we try to get as many candids of guests as we can be our main focus is you. We can’t be doing group shots and candids at the same time. We can’t be doing the couple shoot and details at the same time. If you want the full shebang get a 2nd shooter. Then we can be in two places at once!

4. MAKE EVERYTHING PERFECT

There may be hairs out of place, there may be blur in a photo, there may be digital noise in the shot — but we have chosen to keep those photos because they are precious moments. Your dress might
get dirty, your shoes covered in mud, embrace it. Every mark tells a story, every once of control you let go, the more you
will enjoy every moment. Find beauty in imperfection because those moments are more important that a mark on your bridesmaids dress or the messy tables from your meal. Live in the moment, forget about the rest.

5. READ YOUR MIND

I cannot stress enough how important it is to communicate with your suppliers. If you want a very specific photo or detail captured please ask us. If you plan to drive off* after your ceremony for a quiet 5 mins, let us know otherwise we will worry we were meant to come with you and feel like we’re letting you down. If you have insecurities or a favourite side, let us know. The more information we have on the day the more we can be mindful when shooting.
